The Director Generals of Military Operations (DG MOs) from Pakistan and India are set to hold a hotline conversation today to review and discuss the implementation details of the ceasefire agreed upon on May 10, according to informed sources.
This ceasefire, brokered by the United States, has largely held since the evening of May 10, bringing a temporary halt to the rising hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
Sources said the scheduled hotline communication is expected to take place at 11:30 AM, with the focus on evaluating the terms and ensuring clarity in the ceasefire arrangement.
Beyond the hotline interaction, direct talks between the two countries are also being considered. These face-to-face discussions are likely to be hosted by a third country, with Saudi Arabia emerging as a probable venue.
Officials familiar with the matter stated that national security advisers and diplomatic representatives from both sides are working together to finalize the date and location for the proposed direct dialogue.
Earlier on May 10, both countries’ DG MOs engaged in a hotline discussion where they mutually agreed to enforce an immediate ceasefire, confirming a willingness to de-escalate tensions through communication and diplomacy.
