The Pakistan Navy on Wednesday carried out a successful humanitarian operation, rescuing an injured Indian sailor from an oil tanker in the Arabian Sea.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the rescue mission was initiated following an emergency alert received by the Joint Maritime Information and Coordination Center (JMICC) from a Liberian-flagged oil tanker. The vessel reported that an Indian crew member onboard had sustained severe injuries and required urgent medical attention.
Responding swiftly, the Pakistan Navy dispatched a medical team via ship and helicopter to provide assistance. The sailor was stabilized onboard before being airlifted to a hospital in Karachi for further treatment.
Officials stated that the sailor was in critical condition at the time of evacuation, but prompt coordination and rapid response ensured his safe and timely transfer.
The Navy described the operation as evidence of Pakistan’s commitment to saving lives at sea, regardless of nationality, and emphasized its adherence to international maritime and humanitarian obligations. The successful mission also highlighted Pakistan Navy’s operational readiness and dedication to humanitarian values in maritime zones.
