NORTH WAZIRISTAN: Pakistani security forces successfully repelled a large-scale infiltration attempt by militants linked to the Indian proxy group Fitna al Khawarij along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, officials confirmed Thursday.
According to security sources, on the nights of July 1–2 and 2–3, 2025, a coordinated movement by militants affiliated with the Indian-backed network was detected in the Hassan Khel area near the frontier. The group attempted to breach the border and enter Pakistani territory.
Responding swiftly, Pakistani troops launched a precise and decisive operation, eliminating all 30 infiltrators. A significant stockpile of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the scene.
Military officials commended the alertness and professionalism of the troops, whose rapid response averted a potentially devastating attack. The operation highlights the continued threat posed by cross-border terrorism and foreign-sponsored proxy networks.
Authorities urged the Interim Afghan Government to prevent the use of Afghan soil for launching attacks against Pakistan, reiterating the importance of bilateral cooperation to ensure regional stability.
The security establishment reaffirmed its firm commitment to defending Pakistan’s borders and eradicating Indian-backed militant threats in all forms.
