Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced that by July 2, the total number of Hajj pilgrims brought back to Pakistan through its post-Hajj repatriation flights will reach around 42,000.
So far, PIA has successfully brought back 24,000 pilgrims on 109 flights. The airline is using its fleet, including Boeing 777 and Airbus A320 aircraft, to manage the large-scale return. According to PIA, the post-Hajj operation will conclude on July 10.
Separately, the Ministry of Religious Affairs recently launched the mandatory registration process for those planning to perform Hajj in 2026. The ministry stated that this early registration is compulsory for all intending pilgrims and will remain open until July 9. At this stage, no registration fee is being charged.
Officials have clarified that only those who complete this early registration will be eligible to participate in Hajj 2026. This measure aims to facilitate better planning and logistics for the pilgrimage in advance.
PIA’s post-Hajj operation continues to ensure the timely and safe return of thousands of Pakistani pilgrims from Saudi Arabia. The national carrier said it is committed to maintaining service efficiency during the peak repatriation period.
The coordinated efforts between PIA and the Ministry of Religious Affairs reflect broader plans to improve Hajj arrangements and travel services for Pakistani pilgrims in the coming years.
