Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met on Sunday in Rahim Yar Khan to reinforce their shared commitment to strengthening Pakistan-UAE relations. The discussions centered on enhancing collaboration across economic, political, and cultural domains, reflecting the deep ties between the two nations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed gratitude for the UAE’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s development, highlighting the importance of further expanding cooperation. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to work closely with the UAE in key sectors such as renewable energy, technology, infrastructure development, and vocational training.
President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed his support for strengthening bilateral relations and showed interest in deepening collaboration in mining, minerals, and agriculture. He acknowledged Prime Minister Shehbaz’s dynamic leadership and the progress made in stabilizing Pakistan’s economy. He also pointed to emerging economic opportunities as a gateway for boosting bilateral investments and expanding cooperative ventures between the two countries.
The meeting underscored the shared vision of both leaders to foster economic growth, develop infrastructure, and enhance cultural ties, paving the way for a stronger partnership.
Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz recently launched the “Uraan Pakistan” program, a comprehensive national economic transformation initiative for 2024-2029, during a ceremony in Islamabad. The event marked the unveiling of the program’s logo and an accompanying book.
The ceremony was attended by key officials, including Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
Addressing the attendees, PM Shehbaz reflected on the challenges faced over the past nine months, highlighting the efforts of federal and provincial governments and other partners to achieve macroeconomic stability. He emphasized the need for a collective effort to ensure sustainable economic growth and national progress.
The “Uraan Pakistan” program and the reinforced Pakistan-UAE partnership underscore the government’s focus on economic recovery and global collaboration.
