Condemns Israeli Strikes as Violation of International Law and Regional Sovereignty
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, strongly condemned the recent Israeli airstrikes against Iran and reaffirmed Pakistan’s full solidarity with the Iranian people and leadership.
During the call, Prime Minister Shehbaz denounced the Israeli attacks as a serious violation of regional sovereignty and international law. “These strikes represent not only an assault on a sovereign nation, but also a flagrant breach of the United Nations Charter and established norms of international conduct,” he said.
The Prime Minister underscored Iran’s inherent right to self-defence as enshrined in the UN Charter, and reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast support for Iran in the face of what he described as unjustified aggression.
The conversation reflected the close bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran, as well as a shared commitment to regional peace, stability, and respect for international law.
