A Station House Officer (SHO), Hakim Khan, has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a six-year-old boy in Karak, a district in Balochistan. The incident has sparked outrage and grief in the local community.
The young victim, identified as Owais Qarni, was reportedly shot by officers from the Teri police station. Local residents claim that the child, whose father is a poor street vendor, was targeted without any provocation or justification.
Thousands of mourners attended the child’s funeral, held late at night, in a show of solidarity and sorrow. The tragic death has led to growing demands for accountability, with community members insisting that those responsible must face justice.
Residents have called on the provincial government and high-ranking officials to take immediate and decisive action. They warned that if justice is denied, the situation could escalate further. The incident has intensified scrutiny of police conduct in the region, with many urging reforms to prevent such tragedies in the future.
