Local police have successfully recovered a newborn who was sold by his father for Rs50,000, according to officials.
Authorities stated that CCTV footage played a crucial role in identifying the man who received the child in exchange for money.
The father, Sohail Palijo, admitted to handing over his newborn to a man named Ghulam Haider in exchange for cash. Both Palijo and Haider were taken into custody. During questioning, Haider revealed that he had further transferred the child to another individual in Hyderabad.
Earlier, the newborn’s mother informed the police that the hospital had asked for bill payment. In response, her husband borrowed money and handed over the child to settle the debt.
The police later recovered the baby and reunited him with his mother. Meanwhile, the hospital management clarified that the parents had paid Rs10,000 for medical expenses, which has since been refunded to them.
