President Alvi reconstitutes National Economic Council led by PM Shehbaz Sharif
ISLAMABAD: President Alvi reconstituted the National Economic Council (NEC) led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. President Alvi did it on the recommendation of the prime minister.

Dr Alvi reconstituted the National Economic Council under Article 156 of the Constitution and in accordance with the Cabinet Division’s notification of June 7, 2022 and October, 2022.
Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance and Revenue; Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives; Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Commerce; and Asad Mahmood, Minister for Communication are the members of the NEC. PM Shehbaz will head the top-level economic decision-making body of the government.
Meanwhile, caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and S.M. Tanvir, Minister for Energy, Industries, Commerce, Investment and Skills Development will represent Punjab in the NEC.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and Senator Nisar Ahmed Khuhro will represent Sindh.
Moreover, caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan; Advisor Finance, Energy and Power, Himayatullah Khan will represent KP in NEC.
Chief Minister of Balochistan Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, and Senior Minister for Finance Department, Noor Muhammad Dumar will represent their province in the council.
