Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has resolved to initiate a nationwide anti-government movement to demand the release of its founder and former prime minister, Imran Khan. The decision was made during a high-level meeting chaired by Junaid Akbar, PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa president.
Party sources revealed that the meeting brought together PTI presidents and general secretaries from all four provinces, along with representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The primary agenda was to design a comprehensive plan for the movement calling for Imran Khan’s release and to strategize broader political mobilization against the sitting government.
Leaders assessed preparations for a large-scale campaign and discussed methods to build momentum across the country. The authority to announce the official launch date of the protest has been assigned to the party’s political committee, which is expected to finalize the schedule and make a formal declaration in the coming days.
To ensure coordinated efforts and effective grassroots mobilization, PTI also plans to hold divisional-level consultative meetings. These meetings aim to engage local leadership and streamline preparations in all regions of Pakistan.
Earlier this month, at a corner meeting in Hangu, Junaid Akbar expressed firm support for Imran Khan, emphasizing the party’s unwavering resolve. “No FIRs, no bullets, and no prisons can shake our commitment,” he declared, underscoring PTI’s readiness to confront political pressure.
The upcoming campaign is set to be one of PTI’s most organized movements yet, reflecting the party’s determination to secure Khan’s release and galvanize public support nationwide.
