The district administration of Sujawal has announced a public holiday on Tuesday, August 12, to commemorate the annual Urs of the revered Sufi saint Shah Inayat Shaheed. The decision aims to allow residents and devotees to participate in the three-day spiritual and cultural celebrations.
According to the official notification issued by Deputy Commissioner Zahid Hussain, all government and semi-government offices, educational institutions, and local municipal departments across the district will remain closed for the occasion. The Urs is expected to attract a large number of visitors from across Sindh and other parts of Pakistan.
Spiritual and Cultural Significance
The Urs of Shah Inayat Shaheed holds deep cultural and spiritual importance for the people of Sindh. Known as a spiritual leader, poet, and a champion of social justice, Shah Inayat Shaheed dedicated his life to promoting values of love, equality, and compassion. The official inauguration of the Urs will be led by the Provincial Minister for Zakat, Ushr, Auqaf, and Religious Affairs, Syed Riaz Hussain Shah Sherazi.
