Quaid-e-Azam University (QAU) has announced the closure of its campus from Friday to Monday in response to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest scheduled for November 24 and potential road blockages in Islamabad.
In a notification issued by the university administration, it was confirmed that all academic activities, including exams, would remain suspended on Friday and Monday. The university’s transport services will also be unavailable on these days.
The administration assured students that academic activities and examinations would resume once road access in the area is restored. “Students will be given sufficient time to prepare and retake the postponed exams to ensure fairness,” the notification stated.
PTI leader Barrister Saif recently revealed that preparations are underway for a protest and public gathering on Sunday, November 24, in the federal capital. According to Saif, “A significant number of people will participate in the gathering in Islamabad. Party leadership is actively conducting meetings to ensure its success.”
He further emphasized that PTI has not utilized public resources for its events and highlighted the importance of ensuring the availability of rescue services to address any unforeseen incidents. “The objective of this protest is to demand the release of the PTI founder and other party leaders,” Saif added.
