ISLAMABAD: Colonel General Sergey Yuryevich Istrakov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, acknowledged the professionalism of Pakistan’s armed forces during his official visit to the country on Friday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that General Istrakov met General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), at the Joint Staff Headquarters.
Both expressed satisfaction with the positive progress in bilateral defense cooperation and discussed the evolving security situation in the region. They emphasized the importance of joint efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
General Istrakov commended the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and recognized their sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
