Two terrorists were killed in Balochistan’s Kech district during a security forces operation, according to the military’s media wing. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the operation, which was based on intelligence regarding the presence of militants, took place in the Buleda area.
Following a fierce exchange of gunfire, the security forces successfully neutralized the militants, sending both to their deaths. The ISPR stated that the terrorists had been actively involved in a series of attacks against law enforcement agencies and innocent civilians in the region.
As part of the operation, a sanitization effort was launched to ensure that no other militants were hiding in the area. The military emphasized that Pakistan’s security forces, alongside the nation, remain steadfast in their efforts to prevent attempts to undermine peace, stability, and development in Balochistan.
Just a week earlier, another intelligence-based operation in the Kalat district resulted in the deaths of six militants, further demonstrating the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
The recent surge in terror incidents, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, led to a statement from the military’s senior leadership, reinforcing their commitment to using the “full force of the state” to combat those facilitating terrorism and destabilizing the country. This declaration came following the 268th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
The military emphasized its firm resolve to tackle terrorism in all its forms and expressions, no matter the cost, as the country grapples with an increase in attacks on law enforcement and security forces, especially in areas bordering Afghanistan since the Taliban’s resurgence in 2021.
