KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: In response to the tragic attack on Chinese nationals at Karachi Airport, the Sindh Home Department has announced the formation of an eight-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the incident.
The JIT, led by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), will interrogate the arrested suspects, Javed and Gul Nisa, who were apprehended from areas in Sindh and Balochistan in connection with the attack.
The suicide blast at Karachi Airport claimed the lives of two Chinese nationals and injured several others.
The newly constituted JIT comprises officials from the Rangers, Special Branch, Karachi Police, and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The team has been tasked with completing its investigation within 15 days and submitting a detailed report to the Sindh Home Department.
This investigation is crucial for uncovering the motives behind the attack and identifying any larger conspiracy targeting foreign nationals in Pakistan.
