The Supreme Court of Pakistan has updated its seniority list following the appointment of new judges. With these changes, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has now become the senior-most judge after the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
According to the revised rankings, Justice Munib Akhtar now holds the second position in seniority, while Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan is ranked third. Justice Jamal Mandokhail takes the fourth spot, followed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar in fifth place.
Justice Ayesha Malik, Pakistan’s first female Supreme Court judge, now ranks sixth in seniority, while Justice Athar Minallah is seventh. Completing the top ten are Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi (eighth), Justice Shahid Waheed (ninth), and Justice Musarrat Hilali (tenth).
Further down the list, Justice Irfan Saadat stands at eleventh, followed by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan in twelfth place. Justice Shahzad Malik occupies the thirteenth spot, with Justice Aqeel Abbasi ranked fourteenth. Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan and Justice Hashim Kakar are in fifteenth and sixteenth positions, respectively.
The seniority rankings continue with Justice Shafi Siddiqui at seventeenth, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar at eighteenth, and Justice Shakeel Ahmed in the nineteenth spot. Justice Aamer Farooq ranks twentieth, followed by Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim (twenty-first) and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb (twenty-second).
The final two names on the updated seniority list are Justice Sardar Tariq in the twenty-third position and Justice Mazhar Alam Mian Khel in the twenty-fourth spot.
This update follows recent judicial appointments aimed at strengthening the country’s judiciary. The revised seniority order plays a crucial role in determining future judicial leadership and decision-making within the Supreme Court.
