Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa arrived in Saudi Arabia on Sunday for his first official visit since assuming office, marking a significant step in strengthening diplomatic ties between Damascus and Riyadh.
Accompanying the president is Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, underscoring the high-level nature of this engagement between the two nations. Upon landing at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, President al-Sharaa was received with a warm welcome by Deputy Emir of Riyadh, Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman.
The visit is expected to focus on enhancing bilateral relations and discussing key regional developments, as both countries aim to foster stability and cooperation in the shifting geopolitical landscape of the Middle East. Discussions are likely to address diplomatic, economic, and security matters of mutual interest.
This diplomatic engagement comes as Syria continues its efforts to rebuild international relations following years of political isolation. The visit signals a potential turning point in Syria-Saudi ties, reflecting broader efforts to reintegrate Syria into the regional diplomatic framework.
