In a shocking development, three young men from Hyderabad have been sold in Burma after being lured with job promises, the families of the victims told media.
The families of the three youths, residents of Hyderabad, have informed the Pakistani ambassador in Burma about the situation through a letter and sought help to recover their family members. They stated that Kashif Hussain, Faraz, and Sheroz Khan were deceived with job offers and subsequently sold in Burma by an agent.
According to the families, the three youths went on a trip on February 19, 2024, when the suspect tricked them with job offers in Burma and sold them. Upon arrival in Burma, the young men had their passports and money confiscated. They contacted their families, informing them that they were being subjected to physical abuse.
The families have appealed for the immediate rescue and return of the youths from Burma to Pakistan.
Luring innocent people with job offers, especially in Pakistan’s current economic conditions, has become a common practice.
Meanwhile, in another similar incident, Karachi police, during a raid at a house in Karachi in April, rescued a woman who was lured with a job offer and held in illegal confinement.
According to SSP East Dr. Farrukh, the police lured the mother of two with a job offer and took her hostage in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar Block 3-A.
The woman was lured through social media and detained upon arrival at the location. She was tortured during her illegal confinement. After receiving a call from the woman, the police raided the house and rescued her, along with four other women and two men, according to SSP East.
