ISLAMABAD: Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), in cooperation with Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, has delivered food packages to families in need across various regions of Pakistan in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan.
A ceremony was held to deliver a total of 1,500 food packages to families in need in the regions of Rawalpindi, Muridke (Punjab), and Oghi (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).
The packages were handed over by TİKA to Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) for distribution.
Speaking at the event, Dr. İrfan Neziroğlu, Ambassador of Türkiye to Pakistan, stated that Türkiye-Pakistan brotherhood has always been strong and said, “Today, on the occasion of Ramadan, we have come together to support our brothers and sisters in need, as well as to think about what we can do together with PBM in the future to empower women and enable them to earn their own income.
TIKA has carried out approximately 700 development cooperation projects in Pakistan in 15 years, and its sustainable projects for this purpose will continue.”
Senator Captain Shaheen Khalid Butt, the Director General of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, emphasized the deep-rooted and historical brotherhood ties between Pakistan and Türkiye, stating “Türkiye’s support has always been an important source of strength for us. Today, we are demonstrating another example of the unwavering friendship and solidarity between the two countries.”
Throughout the Ramadan month, TİKA continues to contribute to solidarity between the people of Turkey and Pakistan, organizing iftar programs for orphans, students, and other segments of society in addition to providing food assistance.
