U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that his administration played a key role in preventing a potential nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India.
Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said, “We stopped a nuclear conflict. I think it could have been a bad nuclear war — millions of people could have been killed. So I’m very proud of that.”
His remarks highlight ongoing concerns over tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, which have experienced several military standoffs in recent years. Trump did not elaborate on the specific measures taken by the U.S. but emphasized the severity of the situation that was allegedly defused.
