Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today inaugurated Zangilan International Airport in Azerbaijan along with his Azeri counterpart Ilham Aliyev.
The new airport has been developed in an area liberated from the Armenian occupation in 2020.

According to media reports, Turkish President is the first foreign head of state to land at the Zangilan International Airport on Thursday. It is the second airport of Azerbaijan in territories reclaimed from Armenia during the 2020 Karabakh War.
In October 2021, Tayyip Erdogan also joined Aliyev in the launching of the Fuzuli International Airport.
