A deadly explosion in Balochistan’s Kalat district on Saturday claimed the lives of two security officials and left four others injured when a patrol vehicle was targeted in the Mangochar region, according to security sources.
The blast took place in the Jobaan area, near a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) post. Initial reports suggest that a vehicle carrying security personnel during a routine patrol was struck by a remotely detonated improvised explosive device (IED).
Following the explosion, security forces and rescue teams promptly reached the site and transported the deceased and injured to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
While no group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, security officials suspect it to be the work of insurgent elements active in the region.
In response, the area was sealed off and a search operation was launched to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
