ISLAMABAD: Two terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Quetta Road in Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday.
CTD officials reported that the operation aimed to apprehend terrorists in the area, but the suspects opened fire on the law enforcement team.
In the ensuing gunfight, two terrorists were killed, while two others managed to escape. Authorities recovered hand grenades, rifles, ammunition, and explosive materials from the scene.
A search operation is ongoing to capture the fleeing terrorists. CTD teams have blockaded Quetta Road and surrounding highways to prevent any accomplices from escaping.
The identification of the deceased terrorists is underway, and officials are gathering further intelligence on the group’s activities. A CTD spokesperson revealed that the terrorists had been planning attacks on sensitive installations.
Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to continuing their crackdown on terrorist networks in the area to ensure public safety.
