The United States will provide Ukraine another $725 million military package of weapons and other military assistance.
The White House said Washington has added to a flurry of aid from European allies this week after Russia’s renewed missile attacks on Kyiv and other targets.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the aid follows “in the wake of Russia’s brutal missile attacks on civilians across Ukraine.”
Blinken said as Ukrainian defenders push back Russia’s forces, the United States stands with Ukraine.
The US fresh military package includes more ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems. Thus, so far, the total US military aid to Ukraine has increased to $18.3 billion since the beginning of Joe Biden’s administration.
The US has sent 20 HIMARS to Ukraine with the promise of sending 18 more HIMARS in the years ahead. HIMARS has improved Ukraine’s ability to strike ammunition depots, bridges and other key targets to erode Russia’s ability to resupply troops.
